Great computer at a great price! Starts up superfast. Love the backlit keyboard! Doesnt have much storage space though.
Received it just recently.Well packaged and protected, exactly as described, looks sturdy with this brushed aluminum look, looks more expensive than what you actually pay for.Opting out of S mode couldnt be easier, you just go to SettingsUpdate & Security Activation, youll see there an option to snap out of S mode.
Its just a click takes you to webpage and youll be out.
Not an issue at all.Performance wise: as all reviews suggest, really fast, no lagging no painful wait, boots up just in few seconds, few eyes blinks youll see it open and ready, no startup painful loads thanks for SSD!.
You should be fine surfing web, edit documents with Multiple tabs open without lagging or slow performance, for gaming I reckon you need to upgrade with extra gigs of RAM and storage capacity.Upgradability: I already bought it with an 8GB RAM stick, installation was easy and smooth, everything reachable after backcover is removed.
Just dozen scews out, carefully remove the backcover with a credit card or any edgy plastic thing, youll see right away everything you can upgrade, you can also install an SSD and get things done.Screen: Im no expert, but the screen, brightness and viewing angles are great.
Cant ask more from this budget laptop.Speakers: Speakers are average at best, but doesnt make this laptop bad or less of a bang to your buck.Storage: Out of the box I got 90 GB for use out of 128 GB.

I reckon this machine will operate very well for basic to average tasks.Overall, Great Laptop for what you pay. If you dont expect wonders from a budget laptop like this, then certainly you would not go wrong with this piece.
As a non gamer, the Acer A515-43 is a great all around value. The top is made of brushed aluminum and looks and feels great. The weight is more than I care for but as a home/family computer, it serves us well.
The unit only has 4GB of ram, but for the average user it works great. It is glitch free and the processor is beast. Even though streaming Prime, Netflix Hulu plus others is not an issue, I am upgrading to 16GB of RAM to improve speed on some applications.
The keyboard is very quiet with a high end look and feel. The touchpad is nice and quite and works flawlessly. On a full charge, I can get just about 7 hours before warning to plug in notification kicks in.
For the price, I am very pleased with this purchase and recommend it to those in the market for a quality notebook with great value.
Really nice laptop. Way above average for a budget laptop. Everything works perfect and fast. Really sleek aluminum shell sets it apart. I expected less for what I paid.
Very happy with this purchase. Upgraded the memory to a dual 4g ddr4 chip. Runs like a champ! Not bad for $350 delivered to my door! I dont think you could get a better deal than this for what you get.

Amazing display places this laptop in the top tier. Keyboard really lights up. Processor is fast, I clocked 8 seconds loading. Very well made. Sound is good especially with Dolby Atmos.
Has connections for everything. You can upgrade RAM and memory but MD Ryzen is hard to beat. Also, comes with Windows 10 which offers full layered protection and will be upgraded in January.
My initial impression was that I hated it, simply because to set it up you HAVE to sign in with your microsoft/skype account. But you can opt out of the S mode and sign-in bull after initial setup.Ive been using it for a few weeks now and I really like it.
