Nasco Education is proud to share the stories of inspirational educators in our Class Acts series of videos. Real educators. Real leaders. Real talk. In this edition, Kris Bakke from Nasco Education is talking with educator, Adair Solomon. Adair is a STEAM teacher than truly puts the A in STEAM. She is always looking for new and exciting ways to teach her lessons.

Adair walks us through her journey into education and talks about what helped her fall in love with her job in a truly fulfilling way. She shares her story of how a field trip shaped her path to becoming a STEAM teacher. As students on that field trip used the engineering design process to work through problems, she realized the importance of incorporating STEAM into their curriculum. She's a true inspiration in that she made it happen.

Listen to her take on how the "Art" element in STEAM has always been there. If you look at any kind of technology, science or engineering . . . the art is in there. It's important. It's that open-minded and creative thinking that STEM needs for the future. Businesses and colleges want and need students who come in with the STEAM skills that help them hit the ground running.
