I wanted to replace the trim on my Lexus but replacement trim from the dealership was way overpriced. I happened to look here on Amazon and wouldnt you know...
I found them. I ordered these for both driver and passenger sides. They were easy to install and look great. And, the price is also very reasonable.
Returned because it did not work for me.
Just installed yesterday, easy to install and seem well made. The price is silly stupid high however. They should be no more than $25 each.
But this company realizes the majority of the RX330 for three model years would need one if not both replaced as the originals were defective. Just ordered a second one for the other side yesterday.
This product fit great. Wish the tape had a tab so I could put it in place and then pull the tape. That was really my only issue. I thought the price was a little high.
Frame arrived on time. Price is pretty steep, but I had no alternative. Installed pretty easy, but I had to file about 1/8 inch from the end of the lower small part of the frame.
After installation, every time I would open the rear door the rubber door molding kept pushing the tip end of the frame out of place. I suppose this is why the original frame got blown off.
I cleaned the window surface with alcohol so the frame adhesive strip would have a clean installation. I also used black sealant adhesive in the places where the frame nipples insert into the window surface.
So far the frame is still in place and looks nice. I would buy again.
Considering the fact that Lexus approaches this by installing a whole new window with trim at several hundreds dollars parts & labor, this is a true bargain.
It is a disgrace that Lexus has not addressed this common problem of the trim/mold coming off in high wind & making no allowances for a simple repair.
We had our detail man attach the trim using additional adhesive to certain parts. That was easy. It seems to adhere firmly but time will tell. The original trim takes years to fall off.
The main thing is it saves you money. It's very important to prep the surface as per the instructions and use a small dab of silicone in the mounting holes to assure it stays in place.
Product was a promised. Not 100 perfect though very close to original. Online installation instructions are very good, too bad my mechanic did not follow them. Do it yourself, easy to install.
While this is an expensive piece of plastic it is far less expensive than replacing the entire back window. It looks just like the original and fits perfectly.
