ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
1) Apple/Android USB Compatability: for most devices you can purchase an inexpensive USB adapter that will allow the non-Bluetooth wireless USB pedal to work. I still believe this is the most reliable wireless method.
2) Code for Other Controllers: not all Controllers send a Volume Up keystroke. The code is easily adaptable to other clicks and keys, so you may need to change it slightly for your Controller. Check the AutoHotKey documentation for more details.
3) Battery Access: When attaching the Controller to the Footswitch, ensure there is enough space to access and change the battery. If you have difficulty, consider using a single screw to affix the Controller chassis so that it can pivot out to change the battery when needed.
4) Clicks and Signal Bouncing: the insulation on the wire leading to the screw on the wooden piece cushions the pedal action. This helps to silence the pedal's action and reduce the chance of turning too many pages at once. If your pedal audibly clicks or bounces, superglue a short strip of wire insulation (without the wire core) to either side of the screw in the wood. The distance from the screw affects the de-clicking amount and the pressure required to activate.
5) USB Receiver Storage: if building the non-Bluetooth model, I would recommend attaching a receptacle for the receiver somewhere on the pedal so that it is not lost. I cut off the female end of a broken USB adapter and screwed it to the inside of the pedal.
