WE DID NOT SEE THAT TWIST COMING!! In this Mom & Daughter Reacts video, Tessa (Mama’s Geeky) and Lorie dive into Netflix’s intense crime thriller The Rip, and this one completely hooked us from start to finish. As a massive fan of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon (Boston represent!), Tessa was beyond excited going into this movie. Lorie, on the other hand, somehow didn’t really know who they were — which we clearly need to fix — but even without that context, she still had an absolute blast with this gripping, high-stakes cop drama. The Rip is packed with twists, turns, and constant tension, delivering a story so well written that you truly never know what’s coming next. Every reveal raises the stakes, and the film refuses to play things safe. The sharp dialogue, moral gray areas, and layered storytelling keep you guessing, while the action sequences are intense and perfectly placed to heighten the suspense rather than overwhelm it. The film features an all-star cast led by Ben Affleck (Gone Girl, Argo, The Town) and Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting, The Bourne Identity, The Martian), whose long-standing chemistry once again shines on screen. They’re joined by Teyana Taylor (A Thousand and One, Coming 2 America), who brings incredible strength and presence, Catalina Sandino Moreno (Maria Full of Grace, From), whose performance adds emotional depth and gravitas, and Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead, Minari, Beef), who delivers a layered, compelling performance that keeps you constantly questioning his character’s motivations. Between the unpredictable storytelling, powerhouse performances, and adrenaline-fueled action, The Rip is a must-watch Netflix thriller.
