I am a custom home builder currently living in a home built by a production builder. While replacing the original vinyl sliding door I discovered just how poorly the original installation was for the door and the windows. Sometimes seeing how not to do things can teach one about how the proper way is better. Production (aka tract) builders are notorious for cutting corners to save some time and money. Much of the poor workmanship on homes is covered up by subsequent products so you can’t see what was done until it is torn apart, or falls apart. The Slow Build way is to plan, prepare and take the necessary time to complete the project using the current best practices.
