If you own or have just bought an older DELL OptiPlex machine then here's a quick video guide showing you how easy it is to swap out the CPU for a better one, the new CPU needs to be the same socket type e.g. 775. You will need a screwdriver, isopropanol or rubbing alcohol + cloth and some thermal paste and this procedure is roughly the same for most OptiPlex machines that dell make whether they are the small or large towers.
Once you have changed the CPU and powered on the machine go to the bios then processor information to check it's being read properly e.g. type etc and if everything looks good continue to load up Windows etc. If you're running windows and in task manager it doesn't recognise the new CPU then go to device manage find processors and uninstall it then restart, after loading back into the desktop check again with task manager and it should work no problems.
Thanks for watching and if you have any questions feel free to ask, also please subcribe!
